When deciding between a low-profile foundation (5.5") and a standard-profile foundation (7.5"), consider the total height of your bed. Think about how your bed frame, foundation, and mattress will stack together, and take into account your height and any mobility needs.
For example, a setup with a 7.5" frame, a 7.5" foundation, and a 13" mattress might feel too tall for some. If that’s the case, opting for a low-profile (5.5") foundation can make getting in and out of bed more comfortable.
