Yes, we recommend you add a flat, sturdy support like a foundation to your mattress when using our metal bed frame. The Leesa foundation was designed to support all Leesa mattresses.

Both a box spring and a foundation support your mattress and lift it off the ground. A box spring is made with actual springs, while a foundation is usually made with slats. Both are recommended for use with a bed frame. A platform bed is a piece of furniture that gives your mattress the support it needs. With an aesthetically pleasing design and its own legs, a platform bed eliminates the need for a bed frame.

The Adjustable Base is a frame specially designed to lift the top and/or bottom of the mattress to create a custom sleep experience. This capability makes is easier for activities like reading, watching TV, and working from the comfort of your Leesa sleep setup!

It is entirely up to you to set your Leesa mattress up with a bed frame. We recommend one, as it will help your mattress reach its full potential, building a better bed from the ground up.

We strongly advise you to use a stable, rigid base for your Leesa mattress, whether it's our traditional metal bed frame with a Leesa foundation, a Leesa platform bed, or a slatted bed.
