Giving Back
People are at the heart of everything we do. Our programs improve lives, stop unnecessary waste, and support a community-minded economy.
Cleanhub Ocean
Cleaner oceans, healthier communities

Two billion people in coastal regions don’t have access to proper waste management. Our partnership with CleanHub and local communities in India ensures the safe collection and recovery of ocean-bound plastic—and creates sustainable jobs.

Empowering the people who help our planet

Our plastics collection hub, Green Worms, runs door-to-door collection services to intercept plastic waste before it can enter the environment. 90% of their workers are women who are now on payroll for the first time and empowered to lead more independent lives. Proof that environmental impact and social change can go hand in hand.

Progress, not perfection
We are always looking to make smart, long-term improvements to what goes into our products and believe that any step in the right direction is a good one. Here are some of the environmentally and socially conscious materials, from some of the best domestic and international sources, we incorporate into our products.

Safe Mattresses
Leesa mattresses are GREENGUARD Gold Certified, ensuring rigorous independent testing for safety. We also only use CertiPUR-US® certified foams, ensuring they're free from harmful substances and have low VOC emissions.
steel
Recycled Steel
The springs in our mattresses are crafted from over 98% recycled steel, while our bed frame is made from steel reclaimed from U.S. railroad tracks to support a circular economy and reduce waste.
rayon
Fiberglass Free
Our mattresses contain no fiberglass. They are crafted in our fiberglass-free factory using fire-retardant yarn with a rayon barrier. This chemical-free rayon fiber, derived from 100% regenerated cellulose, creates a protective layer that ensures both safety and comfort.
low-emissions
Certified Organic Latex
The Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS) certification ensures every step of latex production, from sourcing organic rubber sap to processing, meets strict environmental and social standards.
cotton-certified
Certified Organic Cotton
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certification takes over a year to account for every step of production—from the processing of certified organic fiber into yarn to the dyehouses, mills, factories, and printers.
fiber-recycled
Recycled Fiber
The cover of our Legend Hybrid mattress is made from polyester derived from recycled PET water bottles—73 in the King-sized mattress to be exact

Sustainability in Motion
We group shipments, prioritize sea freight, and source 80% of materials domestically. In 2024, our switch to in-house foam production further cut our shipping-related carbon footprint by 3,429 metric tons of CO2.

Made to last, made to be useful

Just because you’re done with your purchase doesn’t mean the world is. Through our partnership with charitable organizations and recycling partner Sharetown, we redistribute nearly two-thirds of our returned products back into local communities, keeping like-new products out of landfills while also empowering the local economy.
